Astray combines route-finding with the feel of moving a physical object. The ball rolls through a brick maze under a tight pool of light. You can see the next junction more easily than the whole route, so finding the exit involves remembering turns as well as steering.
Use brief presses near a corner. A long input can carry the ball further than intended, and recovering from a wall is easier when you have left yourself space. The appeal comes from that small difference between knowing the direction and placing the ball where you want it. There is no inventory or character setup to learn first.
This is the most keyboard-dependent choice in this selection. A laptop or desktop with working WebGL is the practical starting point. If you want a puzzle you can operate entirely by tapping on a phone, choose another review: the official page gives keyboard controls, and we have not verified a touch alternative.
Controls
- Use the arrow keys to move the ball.
- The H, J, K and L keys provide an alternative directional scheme.
- Hold I to show the instructions.
Rules
- Navigate the maze and find its exit.
- Movement is continuous rather than a turn-by-turn grid selection.
- Complete the current maze to continue to the next level.
Who it suits
Players who enjoy spatial memory, gentle physics and precise movement with a keyboard.
Before you open it
Dim lighting and a visual 3D scene are part of the game. Full keyboard input does not by itself make the game screen-reader accessible.
Browser & device notes
The developer identifies Astray as a WebGL game using Three.js and Box2dWeb. Level one rendered in our desktop Chromium-based review browser and accepted arrow-key input. WebGL and a keyboard are required for the documented controls; mobile support is not claimed.

You are leaving DiamondMorrow. Astray opens on the developer’s GitHub Pages site. It has its own browser behaviour; DiamondMorrow does not save its progress or receive the result of a maze.
