Gridland’s opening eight-by-eight resource board with wheat, wood and stone tiles.
Actual opening resource board from the official browser edition, captured on 4 November 2026.

Gridland starts with the familiar act of matching tiles, but the small world above the board matters as much as the board itself. Resource matches support building during the day. Night changes what the matches do, making the same gestures part of survival rather than a simple score chase.

Pay attention to the current phase before making an obvious match. A move that looks efficient on the grid can have an unwelcome effect in the world above it. The game teaches much of this through observation instead of a long explanation, which suits players happy to experiment and read the consequences of a move.

The opening screen offers separate save slots, and the browser edition stores its own progress. That makes it suitable for returning to the same device, but not a promise of an account shared across devices. The crisp little board is easy to read on a desktop; how comfortably you can drag tiles on a particular phone still depends on that device and browser.

Who it suits

Players who enjoy learning a compact system and want more consequence than an isolated match-three score.

Before you open it

The game communicates through a visual board and small icons. A complete keyboard-only or screen-reader playthrough has not been verified.

Browser & device notes

The official menu and new-game board loaded in our desktop Chromium-based browser. The official input source handles mouse and touch events, and the save source uses localStorage. No real-phone or cross-browser certification is implied.
