The blue HexGL racing ship at the starting line of the elevated Cityscape track.
The official browser edition at the start of a race. Captured 4 November 2026.

HexGL makes a strong first impression: a blue racing ship, a suspended city circuit and a wide-open sky. Beneath the spectacle is a straightforward time trial. Your job is to learn the track, carry speed through its corners and bring the ship home in one piece. The three-lap format gives you another look at the same turns before the run ends.

Start by finding a clean line rather than chasing the fastest possible launch. Steering and air brakes do different jobs, and trying to correct everything at the last moment makes the circuit feel much narrower. A cautious first lap is useful reconnaissance. Once the route feels familiar, the attraction is shaving away those little hesitations.

This is the pick for someone who wants a browser game to fill the screen and demand their attention. It is also one of the heavier choices here: the 3D scene needs working WebGL and a comfortable frame rate. The original site’s online ladder is closed, so treat the clock as a personal target rather than expecting an active competitive service.

Who it suits

Players who enjoy time trials, learning a track and improving a route through repetition. Best approached with a keyboard and a few uninterrupted minutes.

Before you open it

Fast camera movement and bright 3D scenery are part of the experience. If you prefer a still board and time to think, try 2048 or BreakLock instead.

Browser & device notes

The official menu, keyboard guide and starting grid loaded in desktop Chromium. WebGL is required. Lower the quality setting if movement is uneven; a mobile quality preset is not a guarantee of comfortable phone controls.
