Radius Raid puts a small ship in an increasingly busy arena. Movement belongs to the keyboard, aiming to the mouse, and survival depends on keeping those two jobs separate. The enemies are easy to distinguish as shapes and colours, but the screen can become crowded quickly. It is an arcade game about maintaining space around yourself.

Try moving around the outside of a group while firing back towards it. Chasing every target directly tends to pull your ship into the danger you are trying to remove. Power-ups offer useful opportunities, although a tempting pickup is not much help if reaching it costs the last of your health. Keeping an escape route matters more than clearing one particular enemy.

The spare graphics suit the task: a dark field, bright opponents and sharp bursts of feedback. There is very little preparation before a run. That makes it a good counterpoint to the slower puzzles in this collection, provided you enjoy quick reactions and do not mind starting again after a crowded screen gets the better of you.

Who it suits

Fans of compact arcade shooters who have both a keyboard and a mouse. The independent aiming makes a mouse much more comfortable than a trackpad.

Before you open it

Expect rapid movement, particles and bright flashes. It is a poor fit for a quiet, one-handed phone session.

Browser & device notes

The official edition is a browser canvas game with documented keyboard-and-mouse controls. Desktop is the sensible choice; no touch-only control scheme or broad device test is claimed.
